What is Virtual Office Hosting?
Virtual Office Hosting is a revolutionary new service from Buckeye Micro that will replace your current IT infrastructure with a remotely hosted and fully managed solution. This system allows you to connect to your information from anywhere, increase data security, work collaboratively between multiple offices, and significantly reduce IT spending.
Traditionally, an office will have a file server, maybe a separate mail server, a bunch of Windows PCs, and potentially a handful of point-of-sales systems. Each of these computers has its own hard drive, memory, cpu and fans, as well as its own copy of Windows and all the software needed by the user. This hardware fails regularly, Windows gets viruses, and other software doesn’t run correctly. Each of these problems interrupts business by preventing the employee from doing their job, and requires a visit from IT support which costs money. Even when things are working, users are often required to work from a specific machine that has all of the software they require installed. Working from home, or even from another computer in the same office may not be possible or not efficient due to missing software and documents, and many remote access solutions are slow and insufficient.
