The End of Windows Server 2012

Windows Server 2012 will officially be declared End of Life (EoL) by Microsoft on October 10, 2023.  This means that Microsoft will no longer offer support or be releasing further security updates, bug fixes, etc. after this date.  While servers running Windows Server 2012 will not suddenly stop working, lack of future support and updates does mean that the system will become less, and less secure over time as new exploits are discovered and not patched.

Aside from being a security risk, Server 2012 will no longer be supported by other software vendors, including Jonas.  Insurance companies offering cyber security insurance coverage also require that all operating systems are kept up to date and EoL software is removed from the network.

If your club servers are still running Windows Server 2012, or if you don’t know what Operating System is on your server, contact Buckeye Micro to get an upgrade quote and replace the server as soon as possible.
